Join our board! There are four open board seats for two year terms each and a Chair and Vice Chair will also be elected for a one year term each. The alumni members present will vote on the new board seats and the new board will vote for their Chair and Vice Chair.
To run for a board position, you must submit a letter of intent to email@example.com no later than Sunday, June 7, 2015.

The Scholarship Golf Classic, formerly known as the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Foundation Golf Tournament, raises money for student scholarships. MSCSA is now administering several scholarships from the Foundation and is continuing to collaborate with MnSCU to host the tournament as the Scholarship Golf Classic! There are many great opportunities for players to win prizes based on chance or skill! Gather three friends and join us on the green! You can also register individually and we will place you on a team. We are looking forward to a wonderful day on the course!
Date: June 25, 2015

Place: The Refuge Golf Club, 21250 Yellow Pine Street NW, Oak Grove, MN 55011
Since the kickoff of iGave 2015, we have raised almost $7,000! The funds raised this year have been devoted primarily to the training center fund and a portion has also been designated for the MSCSA Leadership Scholarship. Remember, the $30 Alumni Association fee is coming due in June! To be eligible to vote at the annual meeting, please make your donation to iGave today!
The training center has been a special project of our past executive director, Justin Klander. To kick off the funding for it, Justin offered a $2,500 match to help alumni and friends double their money towards the project! If Justin has played a special role in your leadership development, help us kick off this training facility right by leaving your legacy just as Justin has left his legacy within MSCSA with a gift to iGave!
The Minnesota state legislative session moves into its final week and much work remains at the Capitol. The higher education conference committee, the group tasked with creating the final budget bill, met for the first time last week. The meeting consisted of introductions by members and a run through of both the house and senate proposals.
There are significant differences between the two proposals. The senate proposes to provide the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) with $59 million in new base funding as well as a tuition relief program aimed at helping students who enroll in certain technical programs. The house bill contains $105 million in new funding for MnSCU and directs the system to freeze tuition for colleges in year one of the biennium and reduce it by 1 percent in the second year.
Director of Policy, Hali Kolkind is no longer working with MSCSA. She is excited to be pursuing a new opportunity with the Mental Health Association of Minnesota! On a fun note, she is now working with MSUSA’s past employee, Shannah Moore-Mulvihill, the association’s current Executive Director! It’s such a small world!
We are looking for volunteers for several events coming up! If you’re interested in volunteering for The Great MSCSA Get Together, the Scholarship Golf Classic, or our letter writing campaign, email firstname.lastname@example.org to get all the details! We have jobs for anyone!
