Alumni are chosen based on their continued leadership and community involvement following their time at MSCSA.     I'm involved in the community in many different ways, from work (varies) and at Church where I serve in the television broadcast of the Speak The Church for a live global broadcast.

Scott Formo

If so, what types of projects: I am very active in my community and do a lot of volunteering including the Pope County Sheriff’s Posse, Glenwood Rotary Club, Wing’s Family Supportive Services, Glenwood Chamber, Pope County Community Expo Coordinator, Non-Denominational Ordained Minister, West Central Wellness and Waterama.

Heather Darby

Heather Darby and Brian AxellHeather Darby and former MSCSA staff member Brian Axell at the 2009 Scholarship DinnerAre you involved currently in community or volunteer work? If so, what types of projects: Since graduating, I have continued my community involvement as the Alumni member of the MSCSA Scholarship Board, Salvation Army, Children's Miracle Network, as well as the Channel One Food Shelf. I also provide support to non- profits, including MSCSA, CMN, Shjon Podien Children's Foundation, Toys for Tots, Autism Speaks Foundation as well as Alex's Lemonade Stand (childhood cancer research).

Current job: I am currently a manager at Toys R Us and Babies R Us.

Where did you attend college? I attended college at Rochester Community and Technical College as well as Winona State University.

Major: RCTC - Liberal Arts and Business Management. Winona State University - Advertising

What position(s) did you hold while in MSCSA? I held multiple positions during my time with MSCSA including, President of the RCTC Senate, Southeast Regional Representative, Platform Committee Representative, the Election and Scholarship Committees, as well as serving on the University Center Rochester (UCR) Board.

Brad Krasaway

Are you involved currently in community or volunteer work? If so, what types of projects:

I am currently active within the Koochiching County DFL, as well as the Koochiching County Labor Assembly.  Outside of that my wife, Danielle, and I are mentors for a group called STRIVE, which mentors High School Seniors and helps them graduate, takes them out fishing and gives them whatever else is needed during their Senior Year. 

Current job: I am Director of Student Life, Academic Advisor, Diversity Officer, Student Senate Advisor at Rainy River Community College.

Where did you attend college? I attended Mesabi Range Community and Technical College and then transferred to Winona State University.

Major: I received a Psychology B.A & Political Science Minor, as well as Educational Leadership M.S.

What position(s) did you hold while in MSCSA? I served as the Northeast Region Representative and President

I currently serve as the Treasurer of Senate District 39 and I also actively volunteer in local campaigns.

Current job: Director of Student Life, Inver Hills Community College

Where did you attend college? Northland Community College, A.A.; Bemidji State University, B.S.; St. Cloud State University, M.S.

Major: Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Minor in Political Science; Master of Science in Higher Education Administration.

What position(s) did you hold while in MSCSA?

I am old so I first started out in one of the pre merger organizations...I served as a regional legislative representative (1992-1993), Vice President of Administrative and External Affairs (1993), and President of the Minnesota Community College Student Association in 1994. As a staff member I served as the Executive Director of MSCSA from 1998-2005.
