Equity and inclusion is a keystone of MSCSA’s work to improve the educational experience of Minnesota community and technical college students. Students at Minnesota’s community and technical colleges represent every possible demographic - race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, age, veterans status, and more - and MSCSA works to ensure that their voices are heard on campus and that all students have access to a high quality education.
Whether it’s writing a letter to Governor Dayton advocating for a Minnesota State Board of Trustees that better reflects the student population or guiding students through their campus’ diversity planning process, MSCSA is at the leading edge of advancing equity in higher education in Minnesota.
As part of its work on Equity & Inclusion, MSCSA proudly co-hosted the Hungry for Equity Partner forum at Saint Paul College on March 5, 2016. During the event, thought leaders from across the state collaborated with students and communities of color to develop a higher-education equity agenda to help make Minnesota more equitable and inclusive for all students.
