Thank you Cabinet

for your service!

We would like to thank the 2015-16 MSCSA Cabinet for their year of service. The organization has many things to be proud of this year thanks to the work of Tim St. Claire, Austin Ruport, Richard Barnier, and Kevin Parker. Best of luck in your future endeavors!

The 4th Annual Great MSCSA Get-Together a success!

Despite the heat, ominous looking clouds and strong wind, the 2016 Great MSCSA Get-Together was a success. Students, alumni, friends and family all gathered to celebrate the past year, enjoy time together and look forward to the upcoming year. The afternoon started at our office with a tailgating party. We enjoyed a cookout, games, and six lucky winners also took home a prize from the raffle.

After the tailgating party we all headed over to CHS Field to watch the St. Paul Saints take on the Winnipeg Goldeyes. The sky cleared and brought a slight breeze, making the evening perfect baseball watching weather. Four lucky MSCSA members even participated in a between inning game on the field. The St. Paul Saints won, 12-11, making it a great ending to the afternoon.

We want to thank everyone that has supported us throughout the year and everyone that celebrated with us. We look forward to a great upcoming year and to seeing even more of you next year at the 2017 Great MSCSA Get-Together!

Get to know Communications and Office Coordinator Courtney Brockman

Q: Tell us about your work experience and educational background.
A: I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. Last summer I interned with the Minnesota Department of Commerce in the communications division. There I wrote different communication pieces for consumers, and I researched and developed best practices for social media. Most recently, I spent a year and half working as the Advertising Manager for UW-Eau Claire’s The Lookout Event Space. In this position I was in charge of all promotional and social media activities.
Q: What interested you in working for MSCSA?
A: Throughout college I always knew that I wanted to be able to graduate with a degree that would allow me to help others. When I found MSCSA had an opening, and that they provided students opportunities to advance themselves and do great work for each other, I knew I found an organization that I would enjoy. I am very excited to be part of a team and organization that works well together and I cannot wait to get started.
Q: What are some of the things that you have been working on and are excited to work on in the future?
A: Recently I have been working on different social media best practices and best uses to expand and enhance organizations communication and reach with their publics. I am very excited to take all that I have learned and put it to use within MSCSA and also continue to learn and grow. In the future I cannot wait to learn more about the organization and help continue to grow their communication practices.

Q: What interests do you have outside of work?
A: Outside of work I love to be outdoors during all the seasons, there is so much to do! Nature walks, being in the water and going to the farmers market are my favorites. I also enjoy taking my dog for walks, watching crime TV shows and watching the Bachelorette with friends. Traveling is also a passion of mine; my goal is to go to all seven continents, only four to go!
