MSCSA Treasurer Applications Due Friday!

MSCSA will hold a special election to fill the Treasurer position during the Governing Council (GC) meeting at the September Student Leadership Conference, which is scheduled for September 11, 2016.
The procedure will follow our special election process, which calls for candidates to be nominated by members of the GC. It’s also important to note that only members of the GC are able to vote to fill the vacancy. For additional details, please review the 2016-17 Treasurer Election Procedure.
We are asking interested candidates to fill out an application by September 2, 2016. Governing Council members will have the opportunity to review applications with their regions before the election. Please be advised that submitting an application does not guarantee nomination. It is within the Governing Council’s authority to nominate and elect any eligible student that they think will best serve MSCSA.
If you have any question about the election process, please contact Executive Director Mike Dean (mdean@mscsa.org) or MSCSA President Dylan Kelly (pres@mscsa.org).

Incoming Leader Training 2016: Ready for the Year!

On August 17-19, student leaders from around the state of Minnesota gathered in Lanesboro, MN at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center to learn more about their roles and what it means to be a MSCSA leader. Governing Council representatives and alternatives, Platform Committee representatives and alternatives, and student senate presidents or campus representatives met in groups to discuss what they would like to see happen for MSCSA in the upcoming year and develop a plan to make it happen. Students also had the opportunity to take an Intercultural Development Inventory to learn more about their intercultural skill set.

On Thursday afternoon the student leaders broke into groups for team building activities. Some students completed group challenges, while others went 30 feet in the air for treetops high ropes courses. While some were push to the edge of their comfort zone, all participants came out as a stronger team.

The student leaders are excited and ready for the upcoming year, and we know it will be a great one! Make sure to check out the photos from the training
