The purpose of the summit is to provide students with an opportunity to advocate for higher education at the federal level through meetings with lawmakers and policy experts. MSCSA will train students on how to facilitate effective meetings with their elected officials.

Any interested MSCSA student or advisor is welcome to attend, however please consider the following when selecting summit attendees from your campus:

  • Attendees should have a strong interest in advocating for higher education, an understanding of the issues facing students on their campus and statewide, and familiarity with the current political climate and their elected officials.
  • Registrants are expected to attend the February SLC/Advocacy Day to gain essential training and resources prior to the summit.
  • Due to space constraints and to ensure meeting effectiveness, campuses can only bring two (2) students on this trip.
